In GOAL 1, ESI Group first develops methodologies and software to predict the noise radiated by propellers before and after the design optimization of the blades in order to prevent cavitation occurrence so reduce the noise radiated by the vessel acting at the source level in collaboration with other industrial and academic project partners. The results will be validated against experimental campaign on cavitation tunnel on scaled models and also in real conditions during sea trial.
In GOAL2 ESI Group is on the definition of the architecture of an onboard system to predict on real-time the noise radiated underwater. The definition of such system will rely on a Vibro-Acoustics Numerical Transfer Path Analysis using numerical models.
